Sawyer and Berson met in the early 1990s in the office of Robert A.M. Stern Architects, a crucible of design exploration and a training ground for many of today’s preeminent architects and designers. In 1999, Sawyer and Berson struck out on their own, christening their newly formed partnership with the design of their mid-century modern project in Bridgehampton, a house that draws inspiration from Richard Neutra and Rudolph Schindler, with subtle nods to Frank Lloyd Wright.
